Atlantic Immigration Pilot continues to gain momentum

Canada Immigration Consultants

The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Programme was launched in last January and it is constantly gaining momentum. The interest is growing from both immigrants and employers. This programme was planned as a partnership between the Canadian government and the Atlantic provinces to attract and keep skilled immigrants, as well as recently graduated international students from Atlantic universities and colleges, to meet the requirements of skilled workers.

On a count till July this year 280 candidates have been recruited through this stream. Amongst these, more than 200 candidates were given an endorsement through an Atlantic province, which is the first stage towards immigration for Canada. The second stage is applying for permanent residence. More than 400 employers in Canada are eligible to use the Atlantic Pilot programme to fill job vacancies and recruit immigrants.

In order to help employers and immigrants both, the IRCC has launched a separate service which provides information and support to get them through the process easily. This service is a fast track service to allow temporary work permits for applicants who have applied for PR and are waiting for them to be processed. These work permits allow them to enter and start work much before they receive their PR cards.

CRS minimum threshold goes up to 458

Migrate to Canada

The November 2nd Express Entry draw has seen a minimum threshold of 458, which is by far the highest in many months now. The CRS draw in June had seen a historical dip at 413. But it has constantly been increasing since then. IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has sent out ITA’s to 2,000 candidates in the pool to apply for the Canadian permanent residence. ITA’s are issued according to the CRS scores and dependant on the requirement of the Canadian immigration system

Canada Education Consultants (CEC) always brings up the latest updates for you when it comes to migrate to Canada from India.

The candidate profiles are ranked according to the date and time of their submission. 27 draws have been taken out so far in 2017. Since its introduction in 2015, there have been 77 draws under the Federal Skilled Worker Express Entry stream.  In the event that multiple candidates have the same score, invitations are based on the exact time of the submission of their profile. This strategy was introduced by IRCC in June this year and is being called the tie-break strategy. What this translates into is that the profiles that have been in the pool that have been there for a longer time are being prioritized over the new ones being made.

CEC keeps you updated with the latest Canadian Express Entry Streams and PNP Programs.

Candidates who are able to receive a nomination through the enhanced provincial streams add 600 points on their Federal Express Entry profile. The federal Minister of Immigration, recently gave a go-ahead to two express entry draws in which only applicants for Federal Express Entry Skilled trades stream and the PNP streams were invited to apply.

In these draws IRCC invited a total of 795 applicants to apply for PR. These draws are usually an exception and not a normal course. This could actually be a factor as to why such low no of applicants were sent an ITA. This also seems to be a logical reason to the increase in the CRS minimum threshold.

Express Entry Candidates benefit from Ontario Immigration Stream

migrate to Canada

Canada’s most popular Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) streams are helping candidates in the Federal Express Entry pool to immigrate into the country. Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream opened last week and allowed certain candidates to qualify for receiving an ITA (Invitation to Apply).

The specific criteria of the Human Capital Priorities stream, which is a part of the Ontario Immigration Nominee Programme(OINP) are; a minimum score of 400 on the CRS, and a few other eligibility criteria. Candidates who are identified through the stream receive a notification of interest from the province. They then apply for receiving a nomination certificate, which adds 600 points for them on the Express Entry pool, and are sure to receive an ITA in the next draw.

Canada Education Consultants (CEC) provides you the easy pathways for the Provincial Nominee Program Canada 2017. The stream was opened many times during the year, and may open once more in 2017. In June, the stream made a strategic decision to do away with the criteria of a minimum 400 points to allow intake of communications and IT professionals. It seems that similar decisions may be made in the future to allow people from preferred professional backgrounds. At the moment Ontario is not receiving applications through this stream, as it was closed just a few days later after opening. The province has confirmed that if an applicant is approved even after the OINP yearly allotment is filled, the nomination will be issued in 2018.

CEC helps you the better way for the Canada Express Entry 2017 Programs to immigrate to Canada.

Ontario is Canada’s most populous provinces with both the country’s largest city, Toronto as well as the national capital city, Ottawa. More than 39 percent of landed immigrants choose Ontario for settling. The Human Capital Priorities is one of the three enhanced OINP streams which are aligned to the Federal Express Entry stream. OINP also offers a French speaking skilled worker stream as well as the Skilled Trades stream which was recently started.
These streams under PNP are playing a very crucial role in Canada’s economic immigration system. In 2016, almost 26 percent of applicants received ITA’s through the PNP’s. This number was only 13 percent in 2015. The target for receiving immigrants through the PNP’s in 2017 is 51,000 which will increase to 55,000 in 2018.

Alberta Immigration Announces New Opportunity Stream

The new Alberta Opportunity Stream will start accepting applications from January 2, 2018. This new stream comes under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Programme.
This new stream will ease the process of Permanent Residence for foreign workers who are already working and staying in Alberta. Just like all the other streams operating under the AINP, this stream is a base Provincial Nominee Programme Stream, which means that all applications are processed outside the Federal Express Entry system of Permanent Residence. All candidates who are successful through this stream get a provincial nomination and then apply for permanent residence.
Previously two streams were operating under the AINP, namely the Employer driven stream and the Strategic recruitment stream, which are now being replaced by this Opportunity Stream. Till such time that this new stream starts operating, applications will be accepted, which is in January 2018. Applications received till January under the old streams will continue to be processed but no new applications will be accepted. Canada Education Consultants leads your way in the quick and easy manner to migrate to Canada, for Canada Express Entry & PNPs.
Candidates can apply to the new stream only if they have a valid job offer from an employer in Alberta. Canadian Government Eases Citizenship Process for International Students

Canada Immigration &Education Consultants

The five amendments that are done in Canada benefit international students as well as the permanent residents, who held protected person status or were temporary residents such as work permit and study permit holders.
As On 11th October, the Canadian permanent residents who were previously on study permit will be able to count a portion of their time while studying towards Canadian citizenship residency requirement. There was also reduction in the physical presence for 3 to 4 years. It means international students and graduates, who would be looking to settle in Canada can enjoy the better way for their needs.

How this benefits international students
As per the new regulations, each day of the permanent residents spent in Canada as an international student or a post graduation work permit holder, was counted as a half day for up to a maximum of 365 possible days. The new measures and the reduction in the days for physical presence for three years could mean the workers and the international graduates in Canada are eligible to apply for citizenship after two years of being permanent residents.Morever, the government no longer needed the citizenship applicants to be present in Canada for 183 or more days in 4 out of 6 years preceding the citizenship application as was earlier.

As before, the time spent in Canada on temporary status was not counted for citizenship. The students would be counting their physical presence requirement for citizenship after getting the permanent residence. The residents had to be present in Canada for 4 to 6 years to fulfill the physical presence requirements in order to be eligible to apply for the citizenship.

International students make up for 11 percent of post-secondary student population in Canada. Among the countries that send maximum no of students to study in Canada, India comes a close second, only to China.

In 2014 the number of internationally mobile students crossed the 5 million mark, and it is estimated that by 2022 the number of students studying abroad will reach 7 million.

In a latest boost, the country is now planning an increase in the no. of international students and academic researchers to more than 4.5 lakh by the year 2022. The Canadian Trade ministry has clarified that the move will be made without reducing the seats for the Canadian students. The federal strategy is also to increase the no of jobs sustained by overseas students by almost a lakh. The ministry is planning to spend almost 5 lakh a year to fund a marketing and branding campaign so that international students are lured to Canada as a high-quality education hub at relatively low cost.

International Graduates earn more after studies in Canada

Canada Education Consultants

A new study on international students has pointed to that fact that international students who study and work in Canada earn more after the completion of their graduation. The study titled  “international students, immigration and earnings growth: the effect of a pre-immigration host-country university education” was conducted to study the differences in wages for Canadian- educated immigrants, Canadian citizens and foreign educated immigrants.

The biggest factor for the conclusion emerging from the study is that students who land in Canada for studies and then stay on to work acquire a greater understanding of the job market in their chosen field of study. They also have better language proficiency and seem to develop greater affinity with important people in the workforce.

The study has brought to the fore the fact that there is a great market value of Canadian work and education experience which boosts the earning potential of international students in Canada. The study focused on two main questions. The first, whether university educated international students earn as much as their Canadian born counterparts and the second, whether Canadian educated immigrants earn much more than foreign educated immigrants.

The Key findings from the study state that Canadian-educated immigrants have lower-earnings than the Canadian-born population, but higher earnings than foreign-educated immigrants.A key factor differentiating international students’ post-immigration earnings from the earnings of those who are Canadian-born and foreign-educated is whether they had a well-paid job in Canada before becoming permanent residents. Some of the reasons behind the earning gap of Canadian-educated immigrants were due to the fact that they were part of a visible minority and they spent more time pursuing additional education. This leads to the fact that the number of years working and a longer exposure to the labour market may have a significant impact on the earning potential.

A key factor differentiating post-immigration earnings of Canadian-educated immigrants from the Canadian-born population and foreign-educated immigrants is whether international students held a well-paid job before becoming permanent residents. So , for a prosperous future for tomorrow  , approach  Canada Education Consultants in India.

Some of the reasons why international students are at a disadvantage of gaining a well-paid job or developing Canadian work history are also enumerated by the study. These were that international students often pursue education beyond the bachelor’s level, which results in fewer years in the workforce. Some international students begin their Canadian education at an older age and take longer to complete their studies. And Some may find it difficult to find a good job after graduation if their networking with connections in the job market has not been up to the mark. So , study in Canada to get the top level exposure for education.

The study shows that it is essential to know and comprehend factors that restrict international students from getting high-paying jobs even after procuring Canadian education.
