Recent Express Entry Draw Sees Lowest CRS Score Since May 1st

In a draw held on August 20th, 2019, 3,600 Express Entry candidates were issued invitations to apply. This is the second draw held in a short period of just 8 days that invited over 3,500 foreign workers and their families to apply for permanent residence.

The last draw was held on August 12th, where 3,600 invitations were also sent out.

These draws follow a pattern which is intended to meet the government’s plan to welcome more newcomers to the country this year. As of the August 21st draw, 56,200 invitations have been sent out. The goal for 2019 is to issue 89,800 invitations in total. The federal government is taking steps to ensure this goal is met. Some of these measures can be seen in this draw.

For instance, draws are taking place more frequently, as this was the second draw in just over a week. Additionally, the lowest eligible Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) has been dropping steadily.

In the latest draw, the lowest CRS score accepted was 457. Since month of may this is the lowest eligible score for pool draw.
