Federal ministers, including the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, and the Premiers of the four Atlantic provinces, held discussions on the Atlantic Immigration Pilot as a part of their meetings on the Atlantic Growth Strategy in July.

In these draws IRCC invited a total of 795 applicants to apply for PR. These draws are usually an exception and not a normal course. This could actually be a factor as to why such low no of applicants were sent an ITA. This also seems to be a logical reason to the increase in the CRS minimum threshold.

Canada’s most popular Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) streams are helping candidates in the Federal Express Entry pool to immigrate into the country. Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities stream opened last week and allowed certain candidates to qualify for receiving an ITA (Invitation to Apply).

The specific criteria of the Human Capital Priorities stream, which is a part of the Ontario Immigration Nominee Programme(OINP) are; a minimum score of 400 on the CRS, and a few other eligibility criteria. Candidates who are identified through the stream receive a notification of interest from the province. They then apply for receiving a nomination certificate, which adds 600 points for them on the Express Entry pool, and are sure to receive an ITA in the next draw.

Step 3) CIC account Registration: –
You are required to have a CIC account to submit your application for express entry. It enables to send any application form, may it be study visa, work permit or PR Visa.

Step 4) Application filling for express entry permanent migration visa:
Using the code you are provides during eligibility test, you would be able to create a new form through your account. For record keeping, you may check your score after submission.

Step 5) Job Bank Registration and your Express Entry Applications Validation to migrate to Canada:
Upon the successful approval of your application form, you are provided with the job bank validation code. It would be used for the registration for job bank.Your application for express entry would be validated.

Intermediate Step 5 and 6 (Combined):
This is just an attempt not a step to get as many documents ready as you may so that your application goes on smoothly. Step 8) Request for Original International Passport: Once your original passport is requested, there are chances for approval of Canada Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to get approved and issued unless your identity is under ambiguity.

Step 9) Come to Canada: A permanent residence visa would not be issued until you come to Canada and go through Canada Immigration and Border Control successfully. If you are nominated by a particular province, you would be required to show up at that level and need to fill some paper work.
If you not nominated by any province, you choose the province of your choice. The card would be taking around three months for getting delivered.

Step 10) Canadian Citizenship Apply:
It is not compulsory. You are eligible to live in Canada after the four years of your living there on PR.

The new Alberta Opportunity Stream will start accepting applications from January 2, 2018. This new stream comes under the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Programme.

Candidates can apply to the new stream only if they have a valid job offer from an employer in Alberta. New rules on the age of immigrants for applications to Canada have come into force as of October 24^th, 2017. Now on all applications for immigration to Canada, Children below the age of 22 will be considered as dependants. This ruling also pertains to economic migrants and refugees. Before this for the past three years, only children less than 19 were deemed as dependants on all immigration programs administered by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

All children who are dependent on their parents because of their physical or mental health condition will still be considered dependants children even if 22 years of age or older

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Canada has explained that this ruling will be not be applied in retrospect to applications that were submitted on or after 1^st August 2014. The ruling is applicable only to applications submitted on 24^th October 2017 or after that. IRCC has said that, ‘applying the change to in-process applications would require a pause in finalizing many permanent residence applications and would impact processing times in many programs.’
